Release notes
Record anything you build, and a snappier app
Recording is no longer browser-only. The agent can show you its work in another app's window, the iOS Simulator, a terminal, or a running dev server, and you watch it without leaving Vortex. The app also stays responsive while files, git and terminals are busy.
New
- The agent can record an app's window (with its sound), a whole display, a booted iOS Simulator, a terminal tab, or a background command's output, not only the browser pane. Terminal and command recordings work in SSH workspaces too.
- A recording chip in the top bar shows every recording in progress, with Stop.
- "Recordings" in the command palette opens the library. It shows every source, filters by source, and plays terminal recordings with jumps to the agent's marks.
- Video files in your workspace (mp4, m4v, mov, webm) play inside Vortex instead of opening in another app.
- When the agent watches a video, it looks at the moments where the picture changed, and it can zoom into a stretch to see it in more detail. It can also read a terminal recording as text.
- Headless browser actions run in a real headless Chromium when Chrome is installed, with a separate browser context for each run.
- New
[recording] proofsetting:requireasks the agent to record visible changes it has verified before it finishes.
Improved
- Recording consent has its own card that says what will be recorded, whether it includes sound, and for how long, instead of a "Run this command?" card.
- File, git, search, terminal and database work no longer runs on the UI thread, so the app stays responsive while it happens. One stuck shell no longer freezes every terminal tab.
- Long runs no longer slow down as their trace grows, and traces are saved before anything reads them or the app quits.
- Dragging tabs and resizing splits does its work once per frame.
Fixed
- Clicking a recording link in the chat opens the recording instead of reloading Vortex.
- Recording thumbnails show in the library.
- A retried response no longer loses or wipes its first streamed words.
