Release notes

Show the agent a video

0.2.0-beta.158 · October 19, 2026

Drag a screen recording or bug-report video into Vortex and ask about it. The agent sees its key frames and reads what is said in it, with timestamps.

New

  • Drag a .mov, .mp4 or .m4v onto the message box, pick one with +, or paste its path. It becomes a recording chip like the agent's own recordings, and joins the Recordings view. The original file is left where it is.
  • What is said in a recording is transcribed with timestamps, on this Mac by default, so a narrated bug report reaches the agent in words as well as pictures.
  • The player shows the transcript under the video. Click a line to jump to that moment.
  • Settings → Agents → Recording → Transcribe speech: on this Mac, with OpenAI (uses your OpenAI key and uploads the audio), or off.

Improved

  • The browser control pills ("Agent is browsing" and "Agent paused") are cleaner: one row that never wraps, a status dot, and one clear main action. Their colors are fixed; they showed as plain white outlines before.
  • The browsing pill is only as wide as what it says. Double-click its grip to put it back in place.

Vortex

You describe the work. Vortex plans, edits, verifies, and ships inside your workspace. The editor, terminal, diffs, and browser are how you watch and steer — not where you are expected to write the solution.
