Resilient shell jobs and dedicated helper models

0.2.0-beta.9 · August 30, 2026

Long-running shell commands remain active without premature timeouts, and helper models handle background summaries and titles.

New

  • Configure dedicated Helper models in Settings → Models for conversation titles, commit messages, and history summaries.

Improved

  • Commands running longer than initial wait windows continue safely in the background and can be resumed or stopped anytime.
  • Long runs maintain a clear task ledger across context compaction and continue smoothly at step boundaries.
  • Compact tool rows, thinking blocks, and output displays make chat history faster to review.
Newer release Unified command execution across local, SSH, and headless runs Older release Smooth chat autoscroll and refined panel dividers

You describe the work. Vortex plans, edits, verifies, and ships inside your workspace. The editor, terminal, diffs, and browser are how you watch and steer — not where you are expected to write the solution.
