Release notes
Fewer stalls, fewer surprises
A pass over the places Vortex was doing the same work twice, holding a lock it did not need, or quietly dropping something it had already read. Most of it is invisible; these are the ones you would have noticed.
Improved
- The file tree no longer collapses to a spinner every time the agent writes a file. Open folders stay on screen and fresh listings swap in place.
- The mind map stops rebuilding itself while it is hidden, and a streaming chat stops re-copying every token it has received.
- A long chat's context estimate is no longer stale after a dedupe or a content part, so compaction happens when it should.
Fixed
- A check that writes a lot to stderr no longer hangs forever. Both pipes are drained at once.
- A terminal no longer shows a broken character when a multi-byte character is split across two reads.
git pushandghno longer hang waiting for a credential prompt that has no terminal to answer it; they fail with a message instead.codebase_searchrespects.gitignoreeven when the workspace is not a git checkout.- One dev-server port that cannot be forwarded no longer hides the others.
- Compacting the database now actually shrinks the file on disk.
- A failed chat-list load is no longer cached as "this workspace has no chats", so it retries.
- The pull-request review gate can no longer read the wrong branch: only the newest branch read lands.
- Usage figures and alert levels can no longer be published out of order.
- A parked chat's streamed preview no longer has a gap.
