Release notes
Commit from Changes, and MCP that works over SSH
You can now commit a run's changes and open a pull request straight from the Changes panel. MCP servers are much more dependable, in SSH workspaces and on your Mac.
New
- Commit… in the Changes panel commits exactly the run's files, with a message drafted from their diff. Commit and open PR pushes a branch and opens the pull request through
gh. - In an SSH workspace, if you mention a server that is set up only on your Mac, the agent says so and can offer to add it to the host. You enter any secrets yourself in the approval card.
- When your browser can't be opened to sign in to an MCP server, Vortex shows the sign-in link so you can copy it.
Improved
- The Canvas panel shows canvases from every folder in the workspace, labelled by folder when there is more than one.
- Stop now ends an MCP call that is stuck waiting on a server.
- When an MCP server crashes or can't be started, the error says why and includes its last output.
- A server whose tools can't be discovered shows “Couldn't discover tools” instead of looking connected.
- A Reconnect in Settings → Integrations can be cancelled.
Fixed
- SSH workspaces no longer ask you to connect a server (such as Sentry) that exists only on your Mac. Before, Connect then failed with “not configured on <host>”.
- Canvases the agent created in an SSH workspace now show up in the Canvas panel.
- Output from finished background commands no longer appears in the chat as if you had written it.
- A server with an API-key header no longer asks you to sign in, and a server that needs no sign-in is never asked to.
- A sign-in token is only sent to the server it was issued for.
- A broken
mcp.jsonis reported and is never overwritten. - Two MCP tools with the same name are both kept instead of the second one disappearing.
