Release notes

Keeps working through drops and sleep

0.2.0-beta.174 · October 23, 2026

Losing the internet, losing your SSH host, or closing the laptop no longer ends a run. The run waits, reconnects on its own, and carries on. Code review findings are now stored, actionable and postable to GitHub.

New

  • Runs survive a lost network. When this Mac goes offline, a run shows “Waiting for network…” and continues by itself once the network is back, instead of failing.
  • Runs survive a lost host. When the SSH host drops, a run shows “Waiting for <host>…” and keeps reconnecting until the host is back. Calls that were in flight are reported to the agent as not applied, so nothing runs twice.
  • Work on the host keeps running. Commands, background jobs and MCP servers on an SSH host now live in a small server that outlives the connection. A build that is running when the Wi-Fi drops is still running when you reconnect.
  • Waking up reconnects at once. After sleep or a network change, Vortex checks its SSH connections, replaces the dead ones, refreshes the file tree and Source Control, and resumes a run that paused only because the connection was gone.
  • A “You’re offline” notice shows while this Mac has no network.
  • Reviews are kept. A review and its findings survive a restart. A re-review of the same PR or branch reads only what changed since the last one, and marks findings fixed or outdated.
  • Act on findings. Apply a suggested fix, ask about a finding in a chat, or dismiss it with a reason. Dismissing a false positive offers to add a review rule.
  • Post to GitHub. One click posts the review to the pull request: inline comments with one-click suggestions, never posted twice, and threads of fixed findings resolved.
  • Review anywhere. Source Control can review uncommitted changes, and can review your commits before each push, asking before you push verified errors. Agents review their own large changes before they answer. Reviews show their cost and run over SSH.
  • vortex review gains --post, --pr, --repo and --include-unconfirmed, and stays quiet unless --verbose.

Fixed

  • The file tree and Source Control no longer show “Retry” after an idle SSH drop or while a remote workspace is still connecting.
  • A workspace created from an SSH host now connects straight away, instead of needing a reload before an agent can start.
  • The fold arrows in Source Control unfold on every click.
  • Overflow menu items in Source Control show their icon beside the label.
  • Cancelling a review now stops its review agents.

Changed

  • A run that stopped because its SSH host dropped can now be continued from its checkpoint.
  • Settings: offline_wait_window_secs and remote_offline_window_secs (0 = wait until back, the default), remote_server_idle_secs (1800) and auto_resume_after_reconnect (on).

You describe the work. Vortex plans, edits, verifies, and ships inside your workspace. The editor, terminal, diffs, and browser are how you watch and steer — not where you are expected to write the solution.
