Release notes

Connect for MCP servers that only sign in to run tools

0.2.0-beta.181 · November 3, 2026

Some MCP servers show their tools to anyone but need you to sign in before they run one. Vortex now offers Connect for them.

Fixed

  • Connect button. An MCP server on an SSH host that lists its tools without a sign-in, but publishes an OAuth sign-in, now shows Connect in Settings → Integrations. Before, it looked ready while every tool call failed. Servers saved by an older version are checked again without a manual Refresh.
  • Connect card in chat. When such a server refuses a tool call because you have not signed in, the chat offers the OAuth sign-in instead of asking for secrets, then tries the call again.
Newer release The agent sets up MCP servers on SSH hosts Older release MCP sign-in on remote hosts

You describe the work. Vortex plans, edits, verifies, and ships inside your workspace. The editor, terminal, diffs, and browser are how you watch and steer — not where you are expected to write the solution.
