Release notes

SSH servers that match the remote Linux

0.2.0-beta.48 · September 15, 2026

Remote SSH probes the host libc and deploys a matching glibc or musl vortex-server, so Alpine and Home Assistant boxes no longer get a binary they cannot run.

Fixed

  • Alpine and Home Assistant Terminal & SSH hosts receive a static musl server instead of a glibc binary that fails to start.
  • If the remote libc cannot be identified, Vortex builds from source instead of guessing glibc.
  • Loader and libc mismatch errors tell you to redeploy a compatible server.

New

  • Release builds ship validated vortex-server artifacts for x86_64 and aarch64, glibc and musl.
  • SSH connect progress shows the remote libc (and version when known).

You describe the work. Vortex plans, edits, verifies, and ships inside your workspace. The editor, terminal, diffs, and browser are how you watch and steer — not where you are expected to write the solution.
