Switch chats without sending to the last one

• The chat you click is highlighted immediately. A message sent while that switch is in flight waits, and the composer says it is restoring the session, until that chat is the one on screen. Resting on a chat prefetches it; a pointer that only crosses the list does not.
• A chat open beside the focused one shows Reply to that chat. Choosing it focuses the pane and puts the caret in the composer. Only the focused pane’s tab is underlined.
• After an edit, file diagnostics run in the background. The agent continues, and a finished report arrives as a later note. If that report has errors, the agent is asked to fix them or say they were already there. A still-running check is waited on only when the run is about to finish.
• A cloud model’s output cap comes from its catalog. A thinking budget sits on top of the answer allowance. When the two do not fit, the thinking budget shrinks and the answer allowance stays.
• vortex stats also prints phase timing, time to first token, cache hit rate, and edit misses. It still prints counts only.

Fixed

• The agent reads a file again only when earlier output does not already show the text to replace. A checklist or a think step goes out with the work it tracks, and verification runs once near the end.
